Part of the Cooperative Extension Service, the NREM Wildland Fire Program supports emergency responders, land managers, and other extension educators with the best available science to meet on-the-ground needs related to 1) wildland fire risk assessment and impact mitigation; and 2) climate science and climate change adaptation.  Extension services include on-site assessment and consultation, syntheses of existing knowledge, field trips, and workshops.  The program manages the Pacific Fire Exchange, a regional platform for wildland fire extension products funded by the Joint Fire Science Program as well as Climate Resources for Cooperative Extension in the Pacific.
