The Pacific Fire Exchange (PFX) is a regional member of the national Fire Science Exchange Network, sponsored by the Joint Fire Science Program (JFSP).  The PFX is a consortium of multiple partners, including the University of Hawaii, the USDA Forest Service, and the Hawaii Wildfire Management Organization, who seek to reduce threat to ecosystems and communities from wildfire in the Pacific Island region. PFX provides a platform to deliver science-based best practices, creates opportunities for new collaborations and partnerships, and maintains an infrastructure to evaluate the effectiveness of knowledge and technology transfer.  The program's outputs are driven by the needs of the stakeholders is serves including resource managers, fire responders, landowners, communities, government agencies, non-profits, and academics.
